Since our inception, African Century has been committed to building a proudly Mozambican company that prioritizes local recruitment and training while working in close collaboration with the communities in which we operate. We believe that this approach, supported by our shareholders and implemented with the highest levels of corporate governance, will ultimately benefit Mozambicans directly by improving their education, living standards, and governance processes.

As a local company, African Century has strong links with the local community in the vicinity of our developments. We hold regular meetings with community leaders to understand their concerns and needs, and we strive to develop projects that have a positive impact on the communities in which we operate.

Our focus on local employment, skills training, and long-term investment in the communities we serve has helped us develop a Mozambican flair in all our completed developments. We firmly believe that as a local company, our first priority should be to employ Mozambican staff and bring in expatriates only where specific skills are required. Our culture is centered on training our staff to develop their skills to meet our high standards, and we are proud to say that we do not have any expatriate staff working in either Pemba or Palma. Our entire team is Mozambican, and approximately 90% are from the local region. We also focus on employing a diverse range of staff from all parts of the communities in which we operate, and we make no discrimination based on ethnicity or religion.

In addition to our commercial developments, African Century operates a horticultural nursery in Palma where we grow indigenous plants to landscape our developments, and a carpentry workshop where we produce most of the furniture for our apartment-hotels and offices. These activities provide valuable employment to the local community and help build skills for those employed.

Our diverse team represents a range of cultures and backgrounds, including the Macondes, Muanis, Makuwas, Swahilis, and Sena. While the common languages spoken on our premises are Portuguese and English, we believe that our team's rich cultural diversity is an essential part of the guest experience at African Century. Our staff's pride in their work and their country, coupled with values such as respect, humility, helpfulness, and kindness, ensure that our guests receive the highest level of service excellence. The staff's commitment to representing their region and their country is evident in the feedback we receive from our many clients.
